Cornish Wedding Dates To Avoid In 2022

One of the first decisions you’ll need to make as you begin planning your wedding is choosing the date. In my popular blog post “Wedding dates to avoid in 2022, 2023, & 2024,” I highlight some of the major events and holidays happening throughout the UK that you may want to avoid when selecting your wedding date. This can be especially important if you’re planning an elopement or have guests traveling from far away.

There are a few reasons why it’s a good idea to avoid booking your wedding on the same day as a local event in Cornwall:

  1. Traffic: Cornish roads can be challenging at the best of times, and large events can lead to even more traffic congestion. If you’re planning to travel between your ceremony and reception, it’s a good idea to add extra time to your schedule to account for potential delays.
  2. Accommodation: If you’re eloping or have a lot of out-of-town guests, you may find that accommodation prices skyrocket or that rooms are fully booked months in advance around the dates of major events in Cornwall.
  3. Guests: If you have friends or family who are interested in a particular event or holiday, booking your wedding on the same day may cause conflicts and make it difficult for them to attend your wedding.

To avoid any last-minute surprises, be sure to check the dates of local events before finalizing your wedding date. You might also consider mentioning potential conflicts on your RSVPs or wedding website to let your guests know to leave extra time for travel or to make alternative arrangements if necessary.
